Taylor Swift Spends $40K/Month to Stay in a West Village Carriage House During Tribeca Renovations

Taylor Swift certainly didn’t downsize very much when looking for a place to stay while her Tribeca Penthouse undergoes renovations—the “Shake it Off” singer is spending a reported $40,000 to live in the lap of luxury within Soho House’s executive, David Aldea’s West Village carriage home.

Constructed in 1912, the 5-story home resides at 23 Cornelia Street, and has recently been renovated. Offering over 5,400 sqft of interior space as well as 1,600sqft of exterior space—this stunning 5-bedroom 5-bath pre-war will provide plenty of space for Swift and any A-list guests she chooses to invite over.

With a muted and simple exterior, the home may not be what you’d expect the popstar to gravitate to, but the interior is an entirely different story. A double-height great room, white marble staircase, and massive skylight welcome guests and floor to ceiling windows throughout, emphasizing natural light and stunning views, while the private garage ensures privacy. Walk further inside the home and you’ll find an indoor swimming pool, two master bedrooms, a two-story patio, and even an elevator. Swift definitely did not cut any corners in this venture.

Meanwhile, her Tribeca Penthouse is receiving a $535,000 facelift, according to permits filed with the DOB, which is sure to be a lengthy process—possibly residing in the carriage house for almost a year. This means in total, Swift is projected to spend almost $500,000 on the rental. Although, in comparison with the almost $20 million she spent on her Tribeca pad, it’s unlikely to make a dent in her wallet.
